It has been a long time since we have updated the blog. We haven’t abandoned the project, but between Daegalus having kids (2 of them in fact) and moving to Denmark, we haven’t made a whole lot of progress.

While the Go server re-implementation has been going slow, Samael has actually been jurassic parking an old T4C server with a bunch of BMC dna to get us a new old dino to experiment and validate with.

This new dino will also be used as a reference to the Go server re-implementation once Daegalus gains some of his free time back.

A summary of changes he has made:

  1. Reestablished the Default Text of all NPCs
  2. Npc/Creatures now properly drop items as expected
  3. Resurrected all instruction sets for NPCs and all ON(Scripts) to ensure that flags, items and scripts are properly configured
  4. Loaded in the 12 class group requirements and associated spells for each class based on level again. Spells are starting to work again!
  5. Proximity Loading for NPCs is working again based on player activity in locations
  6. Improved overall Server Loading Performance reducing start time by 6 minutes
  7. Quest Instructions are completely loaded. The triggers are NOT but once called all the proper instructions would be followed
  8. Auto Talk (Where the npc wants to basically flag you down vs you having to speak with them first) is working again.
  9. Myriad of bug fixes and general improvements
  10. Potions and consumeables are now useable.
